Before PanelBoy

Controls

PanelBoy Controls was built from a lifelong passion for electronics and hands-on craftsmanship. That passion started with Mario, who discovered his love for electrical work at just 16 years old while installing car stereos for friends and family. After high school, he pursued formal training and earned a certificate in Industrial Electronics from the State of Michigan.

Mario began building control panels in 2000 and later continued his education at Grand Rapids Community College, where he studied Industrial Technology. Over the years, he became a skilled troubleshooter in manufacturing environments and spent nine years working for a machine builder in Grand Rapids, where he quickly gained a reputation as a knowledgeable and dependable electrician. His role often took him on the road, installing complex machinery and supporting startup operations.

After more than a decade of hands-on experience, Mario decided to take the next step in his career. In February 2013, he founded PanelBoy Controls. Since then, Mario and his wife, Lesli, have worked tirelessly to build a positive, team-oriented workplace. Their dedication and leadership have helped PanelBoy grow into the successful and respected company it is today.
